With over 16 years of experience as a specialist CBT therapist, I bring extensive expertise in treating anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, and stress. I am fully accredited by the BABCP and trained in EMDR, ensuring you receive high-quality, evidence-based therapy tailored to your unique needs.
My approach is grounded in proven psychological methods, combining deep clinical knowledge with a compassionate, practical style. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore challenges, develop effective coping strategies, and create lasting change.
If you’re looking for an experienced, highly qualified therapist who will work collaboratively with you to build resilience and regain control, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
During your first therapy session, we will focus on understanding your reasons for seeking help and your goals for therapy. You’ll have the opportunity to share your concerns in a safe, confidential space. We will also discuss how therapy works, my approach, and what you hope to achieve. This session is about getting to know each other and ensuring you feel comfortable and supported.
I am a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with over 22 years of experience in mental health, including 16 years specialising in CBT. I have a Masters in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and a Masters in Clinical Psychology. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) for trauma-focused therapy, Emotion Focussed Therapy (EFT) and Mindfulness.
Therapy sessions typically last 50 minutes. The frequency of sessions depends on your needs and goals but is usually once a week to maintain consistency and progress. In some cases, sessions may be scheduled bi-weekly or less frequently as therapy progresses.
The number of sessions varies depending on the issues you’d like to address and the goals you want to achieve. Some clients benefit from short-term therapy (14 – 16 sessions), while others may require longer-term support. During our first session, we’ll create a tailored treatment plan, and I’ll provide an estimate based on your specific situation.
Payment methods include bank transfer before every session or you can pay for 6 sessions at a time.
Online therapy sessions are conducted via secure video platforms to ensure confidentiality. These sessions work just like in-person sessions, offering the same level of support, guidance, and interaction. You’ll need a quiet, private space, a stable internet connection, and a device with a camera and microphone. Online therapy provides flexibility and accessibility, especially for those with busy schedules or geographical constraints.
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, I kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, will incur the full session fee. This policy helps ensure fairness to all clients and allows me to allocate time effectively.
CBT is a structured, evidence based, flexible, reflective, goal-focused therapy that helps you identify and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, offering practical tools for long-term change. CBT helps to improve your mood. Counselling provides a space to explore emotions and experiences without a set structure. While counselling offers emotional support the same as CBT, CBT delivers targeted strategies for measurable results.
BABCP accredited means I meet the highest standards of training, experience, and ethical practice in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. It assures clients and employers that therapists are qualified, skilled professionals who follow evidence-based guidelines and ongoing professional development. This accreditation enhances trust, credibility, and confidence in my ability to deliver effective, high-quality therapy. Therapists and Counsellors not accredited (i.e members) don’t meet this gold standard.
I’m based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, and offer therapy sessions remotely and face to face, meaning I can work with clients across the UK/worldwide.
